What is HACCP
De Kratomshop operates in accordance with HACCP food safety requirements and regulations.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is a mandatory system that helps companies handle food safely and hygienically. Companies must identify food safety hazards and risks and describe how they control these hazards and risks so that the consumer receives a safe product.
Implementation of HACCP at dekratomshop
Packing Room
In order to comply with this, dekratomshop has, among other things, made the packing area (where the pouch bags are filled, etc.) completely sterile exactly according to HACCP regulations, and has strictly adjusted the clothing regulations for entering this area to work or, for example, to pick something up (it is only permitted to enter this area wearing a hairnet, special clothing, and special footwear, among other things). During filling of pouch bags, hairnets, face masks, and special gloves are always used to limit contamination as much as possible. Hairnets, gloves, and masks are discarded after single use.
Furthermore, a special exhaust fan has been installed in this room so that dust particles (they are entering the air during filling processes) are always removed immediately instead of remaining in the air until they eventually settle where they are not wanted. Pouch bags are pre-filled at specific times to ensure stock is available and they do not need to be filled ad-hoc when an order is placed. This ensures that the packing area is always sterile because it is used only at at specific times, creating structure so that everything can be cleaned immediately after a major filling process. In this way, hygiene is better guaranteed.
Food Safety Plan
In accordance with HACCP requirements, the Kratomshop has drawn up a food safety plan in which the risks and hazards of kratom to food safety are pinpointed and safeguarded. A very important part of this safeguard is that upon arrival, every batch is officially tested through a laboratory test, which must prove that this batch contains no contamination. If the incoming batches have not yet been tested, we take a sample from each batch and have it tested immediately in the laboratory. In this way, it is ensured in advance that batches do not contain any hazardous contaminants and outside polution. This primarily concerns contamination during the leaf growing process (insecticides/pesticides) and contamination that may occur during on-site drying or during transport from the harvest area to the processing location, as well as during the processing of the kratom leaves at the processing location (e.g., contamination from the environment during transport or storage prior to processing, or contamination caused by the processing process or improper storage after processing).
Labeling and batch codes
Each kratom pouch is labeled with instructions for use. Furthermore, each pouch bag receives a batch code corresponding to the batch in which it was purchased (each batch of kratom has its own batch code). This makes it easy to trace every sold kratom pouch back to the batch from which it originated.
